Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026

MeditaDream is a free guided meditation app, published by Edouard Richemond in France. It requires no account, shows no ads and offers no purchases. This policy explains in plain terms what happens to your information when you use it.

1. In short

2. What stays on your device

What you create or choose in the app is stored only on your phone: journal entries, notes, texts in "My meditations", favorites, history, points, and your language, voice, speed, pause and reminder preferences. We have no access to it. The Oracle reads what you have written directly on your phone to suggest meditations and tips; what you type into it is neither sent nor kept. Everything is deleted when you uninstall the app. If your device backup (iCloud or Google) is turned on, this data may be included in it, depending on your own settings.

3. Audio downloads

The audio for a meditation is downloaded from our file server, hosted by Cloudflare, the first time you listen to it. It is then kept on your device for offline playback. As with any website, each file request sends technical information: IP address, device type and time. Cloudflare uses this information to deliver the files and protect the service. We do not use it to identify you or to build a profile.

4. App updates

When it starts, the app checks whether an update to its content or interface is available, using the EAS Update service from Expo (650 Industries, Inc., United States). This check sends the platform, the app version and a random identifier created at installation. This identifier contains no personal information, is not linked to your identity or to other apps, and is used only to distribute updates. It disappears when you uninstall the app. The app also reads a short instruction on our file server that says whether a new version should be installed from the app store; on iPhone, it then asks the App Store for the number of its latest version. As in point 3, these requests send only technical information.

5. Reminders

Reminders are scheduled directly on your device, with no notification server. Permission to send notifications is requested only if you turn on a reminder, and you can withdraw it at any time in your phone settings. If notifications are allowed, the app may also send you a silent reminder 30 minutes after a session ends, if the "Capture this" page was left open. This reminder is never sent after a night meditation, and you can turn it off in the app Settings ("Journal reminder").

6. Reading voices

The meditations are read by synthetic voices recorded in advance. No text or data from you is sent to a speech synthesis service. Texts in "My meditations" are read by the voices built into your phone, without a connection.

7. Permissions

The app does not access your microphone, camera, contacts, location or photos. The only permission requested is for notifications, when you turn on a reminder.

8. Sharing

When you share the app, a meditation or an audio diagnostic report, your phone's share sheet opens. You choose the recipient, and we receive nothing.

9. App stores

Apple and Google, which distribute the app, may provide us with overall, anonymous statistics, such as the number of downloads or crashes, according to their own policies and your settings. These statistics do not allow us to identify you.

10. Legal basis and retention

We do not keep any file of personal data. The technical processing described in sections 3 and 4 is based on our legitimate interest in delivering the app and its content securely. Cloudflare, Expo and Apple keep their technical logs according to their own policies.

11. Transfers outside the European Union

Cloudflare, Expo and Apple (for the version check on iPhone) may process this technical data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

12. Children

The app is intended for adults and is not meant for children. We do not knowingly collect any information about children.

13. If you write to us

If you write to us by email or through the support form on meditadream.com, we receive your email address and your message; the form is delivered by the FormSubmit service. We use them only to reply to you and keep them no longer than necessary.

14. Your rights

Depending on the law of your country, for example the GDPR in the European Union, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection. Since we hold no data that could identify you, the simplest way to erase everything is to uninstall the app. If you have any questions, write to us. You can also contact the data protection authority in your country; in France, this is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

15. The meditadream.com website

Everything above concerns the app. The meditadream.com website uses Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) to learn which pages are read and improve the site, only if you agree in the banner shown on your first visit. Without your consent, no measurement cookie is set; Google only receives anonymous signals with no identifier. If you agree, Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga) that count visits and page views; the data is kept for 14 months, is never used for advertising and is never sold. Your choice is kept for 13 months and you can change it at any time with the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page.

16. Changes

If our practices change, this policy will be updated here and in the app, with a new date.
