Chakra meditation: a guided journey through the 7 chakras

Chakra meditation means resting your attention on seven points along the body, from the base of the spine to the top of the head. The chakras come from the traditions of yoga and tantra. They offer a symbolic map of inner experience, not a scientific fact. MeditaDream offers four guided sessions on the chakras and the energy body, plus a Third Eye category for going further. Everything is free, with no subscription, no ads and no account.

What are the 7 chakras?

In Sanskrit, chakra means wheel. Yoga and tantra describe these wheels as points of energy along the spine. Most modern books list seven main chakras, each with a traditional name and place in the body:

A tradition, not a science

The chakras belong to the spiritual traditions of India. They are not organs, and science has not found them in the body. In these sessions, they serve as a map for attention: a simple way to move through the body, one point at a time.

You do not need to believe in anything to try them. Approach them as a calm, structured way to explore your sensations, and leave aside whatever does not speak to you. The sessions make no promises about your body. They simply give your attention a clear path to follow.

Guided chakra meditation in the app

Recognizing the Seven Chakras is the natural place to start. For 27 minutes, it draws a map of the seven points in your body. You learn to find each one before giving it any meaning.

Chakra Reset is shorter and gentler. In 18 minutes, it travels through all seven chakras with slow narration and long, restful pauses, which makes it a good choice for the evening. A fourth session explores the subtle sensations of the energy body, without forcing anything to appear. All four are marked as intermediate and guided from start to finish, so you only need to listen.

Chakra alignment, from base to crown

Aligning the Seven Chakras is the longest session, at 30 minutes. You place the seven points on a single line, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Then you take time to feel the inner reference that this line gives you.

Here, chakra alignment is not about fixing anything. It is a way of gathering your attention along the spine and staying with it, calmly. Sitting upright makes that line easier to feel. There is nothing to achieve: noticing the line, even briefly, is already the practice.

Third eye meditation: going further with Ajna

Ajna, the sixth chakra, has its own category in the app: Third Eye. Its five sessions last 22 to 26 minutes and focus on the point between the eyebrows. They invite you to let an image appear on its own, to cross the door of Ajna or to watch a mandala build itself.

These sessions are marked as advanced. Take your time with the chakra sessions first, then move on to the third eye when you feel ready. The first session starts simply, by feeling both eyes before turning your attention inward. Like all the sessions in the app, they download once and then play offline.
